Master Cylinder

  1. Remove vehicle brakelines from master cylinder. Install short brakelines to master cylinder. Position free ends of short brakelines so they are submerged in brake fluid contained in master cylinder reservoir. Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean DOT 3 brake fluid.
  2. Pump brakes until clear, bubble-free fluid comes out of short brakelines. Remove short brakelines from master cylinder. Reinstall vehicle brakelines. Have an assistant pump brake pedal 10 times then hold firm pressure on brake pedal.
  3. Loosen rearmost brakeline on master cylinder until brake fluid comes out. Tighten fitting and release brake pedal. Repeat procedure until clear, bubble-free fluid comes from around fitting. Repeat procedure for front master cylinder brakeline fitting.
