Pinpoint Test A - Power Window System Inoperative

  1. Power Supply & Ground Check  - Remove left power window switch. Check voltage between Black and Red/Light Blue wires at power window switch connector. If battery does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 4).
  2. Ground Continuity Check  - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between Black wire at switch connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire. Retest system.
  3. Power Supply At Power Window Switch Test  - Check Red/Light Blue wire for voltage at power window switch connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 5).
  4. Power Supply Circuit Test  - Using an ohmmeter, check all wires between each power window switch connector and corresponding power window motor connector for continuity. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION  table. If continuity exists in all circuits, replace power window switch. Retest system. If continuity does not exist in any circuit(s), repair open in suspect circuit. Retest system.
