Anti-Theft System: Description
The anti-theft system is designed to prevent unauthorized entry into passenger doors, luggage compartments and engine compartment. When alarm is triggered, horn sounds and the low beam headlights, taillights, and parking lights flash and vehicle starter is disabled.
The anti-theft system is controlled by the Central Processing Unit (CPU). An alarm indicator is located on the instrument panel. Other components include; power door lock switches, door ajar switches and lights, ignition switch, horns and horn relay, starter interrupt relay and remote keyless entry system (if equipped).
Models with an electronic door lock system have a PANIC feature that operates in conjunction with the anti-theft system and remote keyless entry system. When the PANIC button on the remote transmitter is pushed, the horns will sound and the exterior lights will flash.
