Transmission Range Switch Test (A/T)

  1. Unplug transmission range switch connector located on top of transaxle case. With ignition off, connect ohmmeter between Green wire terminal and Black/Red wire terminal on transmission range switch.
  2. Shift transaxle through all gear positions. Continuity should be present in Park and Neutral only. If there is no continuity, or continuity exists in positions other than Park and Neutral, go to next step.
  3. To check and adjust transmission range switch, apply parking brake and shift transmission into Neutral. If necessary, remove lever arm from switch to ease switch inspection. Switch shaft should align with rib in switch housing. See Fig 1 . If switch is out of adjustment, loosen switch mounting screws and rotate switch until aligned. If adjustment is okay, replace transmission range switch.
