Coolant Temperature Gauge Test

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to "+" terminal on temperature gauge. Connect "-" terminal on gauge to ground.
  2. Connect one lead of Gauge System Tester (021-00055) to terminal "T" on gauge. Connect other tester lead to "-" terminal on gauge.
  3. Set tester to resistance specified in illustration. See Fig 1 . If temperature gauge indicates as specified, return to appropriate PINPOINT TEST. Replace temperature gauge if it does not indicate as specified.
