Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
^ Raise vehicle.
^ Remove front and rear dual converter Y pipe flange fasteners from exhaust manifolds.
^ Remove bolt and nut retainers at transaxle.
^ Remove two remaining nuts and bolts from dual converter Y pipe outlet connection. Discard exhaust converter outlet gasket.
^ Remove dual converter Y pipe.

INSTALLATION
^ Loosely install dual converter Y pipe to exhaust manifold connections.
^ Install dual converter Y pipe bolt and nut retainers to oil pan and transaxle.
^ Install new exhaust converter outlet gasket.
^ Install dual converter Y pipe to exhaust system flex tube or muffler inlet pipe and resonator.
^ Align exhaust system. Starting at front of system, tighten all nuts and bolts to specification.
^ Check system for leaks and lower vehicle.
