Drive Cycle Mode 1

  1. 1)  Ensure no vacuum leaks exist. Ensure idle speed and ignition timing are within specification. Turn off all accessories.
  2. 2)  Set parking brake and block drive wheels. With transmission in Neutral or Park, start engine and bring to normal operating temperature.
  3. 3)  Let engine idle for 2 minutes with engine temperature above 178°F (81°C). Monitor ECT PID if necessary.
  4. 4)  If an active MODE 1 PID is available, monitor PID to verify successful Mode 1 completion. If Mode 1 cannot be completed by following procedure, go to CIRCUIT TEST QC to diagnose cause of Mode 1 failure.
