Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

  1. Unplug TP sensor connector. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "A" and "B" (upper terminals) on TP sensor. See Fig 1 . Move throttle lever to full open position. Resistance should be approximately 5 ohms.
  2. Move throttle lever to full closed position. Resistance should be less than one ohm. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step. If resistance is as specified, no adjustment is required.
  3. Loosen TP sensor screws. With throttle lever in closed position, rotate TP sensor until resistance is less than one ohm. Tighten screws. Move throttle lever to full open position. Resistance should be approximately 5 ohms. Replace throttle body if TP sensor cannot be adjusted to specification.
