Models With Traction Control System (TCS)

  1. On 2.0L, remove air intake resonator from throttle body. On 2.5L, remove air cleaner. On all models, locate TCS motor at right front of engine compartment. Remove clips from accelerator cable adjusters. Pull accelerator cable housing away from adjusters (to slacken cables).
  2. Disconnect TCS connector, and remove TCS control unit cover. Insert a .05" (1.3 mm) wire through TCS control unit pulley alignment holes. Wire should not contact motor housing. Remove cable retaining cup and cable from cable bracket at throttle body. Disconnect throttle cable from throttle body lever.
  3. Using an accelerator hold-down prop tool, fully depress accelerator pedal. Install clip into accelerator-to-TCS control unit cable adjuster. Connect accelerator cable to throttle body lever. Install accelerator cable housing into accelerator cable bracket, and install clip.
  4. Pull accelerator cable housing out of adjuster until wide open throttle at throttle body is achieved. While holding housing and adjuster in position, install adjuster clip. Release accelerator. Remove wire from TCS control unit alignment holes.
  5. If cable is adjusted properly, throttle plate should be closed, and accelerator cable deflection should be .04-.12" (1-3 mm) midway between accelerator cable bracket and throttle body lever.
