Test E: System Identification Fault

NOTE: This test is associated with DTC C1414.
  1. Identify Vehicle System If vehicle is equipped with Traction Control System (TCS), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with TCS, go to step 4).
  2. Check Circuit No. 91 Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 and Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) 8-pin connector C130 (located below brake master cylinder). Connect Breakout Box (007-00033) and Adapter (007-00115). Check resistance between test pins No. 5 and 14 at breakout box. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Blue wire. Clear all DTCs and retest system.
  3. Clear DTCs Clear all DTCs. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and retrieve codes again. If DTC C1414 is still present, replace HCU. If DTC C1414 is not still present, fault was intermittent. No further testing is required at this time.
  4. Check For Open Circuit Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 and Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) 8-pin connector C130 (located below brake master cylinder). Connect Breakout Box (007-00033) and Adapter (007-00115). Check resistance between ground and test pins No. 14 and 25. If both readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace HCU. If either reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground at terminal No. 14 (Black/Blue wire) of ABS control module. Reconnect all components and clear all DTCs. Retrieve codes again. If DTC C1414 is present, replace HCU.
