Test S: No Module Communication

  1. Check Fuse Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Check condition of ABS MODULE (7.5-amp) fuse in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 3).
  2. Check For Short To Ground Remove ABS MODULE (7.5-amp) fuse from instrument panel fuse block. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 (located below brake master cylinder). Check resistance between ground and ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 terminal No. 21 (Blue wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace ABS control module. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Blue wire. Reconnect all components and retest system.
  3. Check For Voltage Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 (located below brake master cylinder). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check for voltage between ground and ABS control module 22-pin connector C132 terminal No. 21 (Blue wire). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, go to step 5).
  4. Check For Open Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect 16-pin connector C201 from instrument panel fuse block. See Figure. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132. Check resistance between terminal No. 15 (Blue wire) at fuse block 16-pin connector C201 and terminal No. 21 at ABS control module 22-pin connector C132. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Blue wire. Reconnect all components and retest system.
  5. Check For Open Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ABS control module 22-pin connector C132. Check resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Black/Yellow wire) at ABS control module 22-pin connector C132. Check resistance between ground and terminal No. 14 (Black/Blue wire) at ABS control module 22-pin connector C132. If resistances are 5 ohms or less, fault was intermittent. Check for faulty ground connection at battery support. If ground connection is clean and tight, system is operational at this time. No further testing is required. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Yellow or Black/Blue wire(s). Reconnect all components and retest system.
