Test K: Integrated Air Bag Monitor Does Not Respond
- Deactivate air bag system. See 1996 ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT FORD MOTOR CO-AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM . Disconnect integrated air bag monitor black connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance from integrated air bag monitor terminal No. 12 (Light Blue/White wire) on black connector to DLC connector terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire). Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, service the Light Blue/White wire for open. Reactivate air bag system. - With integrated air bag monitor C2 black connector disconnected, inspect terminal No. 12 (Light Blue/White wire) and the wire connection to the terminal. Is terminal No. 12 and wire connection okay? If yes, go to next step. If no, service the connector. Reactivate air bag system. Restore connections and run the Data Link Diagnostic Test. - With integrated air bag monitor C2 black connector disconnected, inspect the module terminal No. 12. Is the terminal connection and housing okay? If yes, replace integrated air bag monitor.
