Passenger Power Window Inoperative

  1. Power Window Operation Check: Turn ignition on. Attempt to operate suspect window from master switch and single switch. If window does not operate from single switch go to next step. If a passenger window does not operate at all, go to step 3). If window operates from single switch but not master switch, replace master switch.
  2. Check Red/Light Blue Wire: Ensure window lockout switch is deactivated. Check for battery voltage at Red/Light Blue wire at single switch of inoperative window. If battery voltage is not present, repair Red/Light Blue wire between master switch and single switch. If battery voltage is present, replace single switch.
  3. Check Switch Circuits: Remove and disconnect master switch. Disconnect single switch for inoperative window. Check UP and DOWN circuits between master switch and single switch for inoperative window for open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAM  . Repair open or shorted circuit as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  4. Check Motor Circuit: Disconnect inoperative power window motor. Check Red/Yellow and Yellow/Red wires between single switch and window motor for open or short to ground. Repair open or shorted wires as necessary. If Red/Yellow and Yellow/Red wires are okay, replace motor.
