a All conventional and Traction-Lok Axles use Hypoid Gear Lubricant, XY-80W90-QL or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSP-M2C197-A plus 2 ounces of friction modifier F3TZ-19B546-MA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSP-M2C196-A for complete refill of Traction-Lok rear axles.

b Lubricant level is determined by filling the rear axle 1/4 inch to 9/16 inch below the bottom of the filler hole with the vehicle on a level surface.

Note: Rear axle lube quantities must be replaced every 160,000 km (100,000 miles) or if the rear axle has been submerged in water. Otherwise, the lube should not be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected or repair required.
