Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Sensing elements located in the airflow bypass are not to be tampered with.

1. Disconnect electrical connector from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
2. Disconnect air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove band clamp from air cleaner.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly.
5. Remove grommet holding MAF wires.
6. Disconnect wires from MAF.
7. Remove MAF from air cleaner assembly. The MAF sensor electronics module and body are calibrated as a unit and must be serviced as a complete unit.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean engine air cleaner MAF contact surfaces.
2. Install MAF sensor to engine air cleaner.
3. Connect electrical connector to MAF sensor.
4. Install engine air cleaner and element.
