Both Power Windows Inoperative
- Check POWER WINDOW (30-amp) fuse. Replace fuse if blown. If fuse blows after replacing, go to next step. If fuse does not blow, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 16-pin interior fuse panel connector. See Fig 1
. Disconnect master switch connector and right switch (passenger side) connector. Measure resistance between Black/Red wire terminal of 16-pin interior fuse panel connector and ground. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair shot to ground in Black/Red wire between power window switches and interior fuse panel. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step.
- With ignition off, disconnect master switch connector. Measure resistance between ground and following connector terminals: Green/Blue wire, Red/Blue wire, Green/White wire and Red/White wire. If any resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair circuit in question for a short to ground. If all resistance measurements are greater than 10 k/ohms, reconnect interior fuse panel and go to next step.
- With ignition off, disconnect master switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Black/Red wire terminal of master switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire between switch and interior fuse panel.
- With ignition off, remove METER (15-amp) fuse from fuse panel. Disconnect master switch connector. Measure resistance of Black wire between master switch connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace master switch.
