4EAT (Probe)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove shift cable from manual control lever at TR switch. Disconnect TR switch harness connector. Rotate manual control lever to align with neutral mark on TR switch. See Fig 1.
  2. Loosen TR sensor retaining bolts. Adjust TR switch so that continuity is present between terminals "A" & "H" and "F" & "I". See Fig 2. Tighten retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install shift cable, harness connector and negative battery cable.
  3. Check for PARK engagement. Start engine and ensure that transmission shifts through all gears properly. If not, check shift cable adjustment. See SHIFT CABLE/LINKAGE . Verify that vehicle only starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and that backup light work.
