Power Door Locks: Notes

The power door lock control system uses electric switches mounted on the front door armrests and in the door lock cylinders. When the front doors are closed after the power door locks are set, the front doors remain locked. The manual door locks will override the power controls in the event of a power mechanism failure. See Fig 1 .

The power door locks have an added feature which allows the unlocking of either or both front doors from either door lock cylinder. Insert the key in the door lock cylinder and turn the key counterclockwise to the first position. This will unlock the left hand front door. To unlock the other front door at the same time, continue turning the key to the second position. Both front doors are locked by turning the key clockwise. For operation from the right hand side, reverse the key turning direction. See the following for more information on the electronic door lock control system.
