Equipment Hook-Up

  1. Ensure vehicle ignition switch is in OFF position. Select the correct NGS scan tester program card. Insert program card into NGS scan tester. Note direction card is inserted into tester, tester will not work if program card is incorrectly inserted.
  2. Connect OBD-II adapter cable to NGS scan tester. Plug adapter into vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC) under instrument panel. Plug NGS scan tester power cable into cigarette lighter socket.
  3. NGS scan tester will now automatically perform an initialization test, which checks if program card and vehicle interface module are compatible. If an error message now appears on NGS scan tester display, see appendix C of NGS scan tester operator manual.
  4. Enter vehicle model year, engine size, model, etc., into NGS scan tester. Turn vehicle ignition switch to RUN position. Advance to next screen and select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK.
