Retrieving Parameter Identification (PID) Information

  1. This test is used to verify operation of input circuitry to the module being tested. Hook up New Generation Star (NGS) scan tester. See EQUIPMENT HOOK-UP  . Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Rotate dial on scan tester to DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK menu, and press trigger to select and advance to next screen. Highlight and select module you wish to receive information from.
  3. Highlight and select menu item PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD. Highlight and select the PID acronyms you wish to view. When all PID acronyms have been selected, press 7 button, to view all selected PIDs.
