Pinpoint Test E - Trunk Does Not Unlock
- Turn ignition on. Press trunk release switch in glove box. If trunk unlocks, go to next step. If trunk does not unlock, go to step 4).
- Remove trunk release switch. Using a jumper wire, connect Brown/White wire terminal of trunk release switch connector to ground. If trunk opens, go to next step. If trunk does not open, repair open circuit in Brown/White wire.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and Black wire of trunk release switch connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace trunk release switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Black wire.
- Remove trunk release relay. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and Brown/White wire of trunk release relay connector. Apply trunk release switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 2).
- Using an voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and Purple/Yellow wire of trunk release relay connector. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 7).
- Measure voltage between ground and Pink/Yellow wire of trunk release relay connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Pink/Yellow wire and retest system. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to step 8).
- Remove fuse No. 26 (15-amp) from interior fuse panel. Remove trunk release relay. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of Pink/Yellow wire between trunk release relay connector and output side of fuse No. 26 at fuse panel. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Pink/Yellow wire and retest system.
- Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and supply side of fuse No. 26 at fuse panel. If voltage is 10 volts or more, replace fuse and retest system. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Pink/Yellow wire and retest system.
