DTC B1302 - Delayed Accessory Relay Coil Open

  1. Check Window Operation: Check operation of power windows. If power windows do not operate, go to next step. If power windows operate, go to step 4).
  2. Check Signal From GEM: Remove accessory delay relay (located in fuse junction panel). Using a ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance between delay relay socket terminal No. 85 and ground. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace accessory delay relay. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.

  3. Check For Open In Fuse Panel: Disconnect connector C1 from fuse junction panel. See Fig 2 . Measure resistance between delay relay terminal No. 85 and fuse junction panel connector C1, terminal No. 17. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace GEM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace fuse junction panel.
  4. Check Fuse Panel For Short: Reconnect fuse panel connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and delay relay socket terminal No. 85. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace accessory delay relay.
  5. Check For Short In GEM: Disconnect fuse panel connector C1. See Fig 2 . Measure resistance between ground and delay relay socket terminal No. 85. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace fuse junction panel. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace GEM.
