  1. Ensure antenna is installed properly. Unplug antenna from Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module antenna connector. Inspect antenna connector and antenna for damage. If antenna is okay, reconnect it to RAP, then go to next step. Repair or replace antenna as necessary.
  2. If more than one transmitter is available, test vehicle response to each transmitter. If other transmitters do not operate locks properly, go to next step. If other transmitters operate locks properly, replace defective transmitter.
  3. Remove antenna connector. Inspect connector for damage or corrosion. Reconnect antenna. If symptom is not present, testing is complete. If symptom is still present, go to next step.
  4. Remove antenna connector. Measure resistance between antenna signal pin and opposite end of antenna coaxial cable center conductor. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace antenna. If resistance is 10 ohms or less, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tester to Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC). Check to see which Transmitter Identification Codes (TIC) are stored in control module. If 2 transmitters are identified (TIC1 and TIC2), go to next step. If 2 transmitters are not identified, program transmitters as described in REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Repeat step 1).
  6. Turn ignition off. Press transmitter CLEAR button. Press and release UNLOCK button continuously for several seconds. If 8 digit character appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED and the word UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to step 9). If data is not as specified, go to next step.
  7. Repeat steps 5) and 6). If 8 digit character appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED and the word UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to next step. If data is not as specified, go to step 10).
  8. Put new batteries in transmitter. Repeat steps 5) and 6). If 8 digit character appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED and the word UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, testing is complete. If data is not as specified, replace transmitter.
  9. View TIC/DATA. If TIC under LAST TIC RECEIVED matches TIC1 or TIC2, go to next step. If data is not as specified, program transmitters as described in REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING and repeat step 1).
  10. View TIC/DATA. If all buttons pushed create LAST TIC RECEIVED message, system is operating properly. Testing is complete. If data is not as specified, program transmitters as described in REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING and repeat step 1).
