Pinpoint Test "A"

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector No. 1. See Figure and Fig 1 . Inspect connector for damage or corrosion and repair if necessary. Measure resistance between harness connector No. 1 Tan/Orange wire terminal and DLC pin No. 2 (Tan/Orange wire). See Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Tan/Orange wire circuit.
  2. Leave ignition off. Measure resistance between harness DLC pin No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire) and connector No. 1 Pink/Light Blue wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire circuit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector No. 2. See Figure and Fig 1 . Inspect connector for damage or corrosion and repair if necessary. Measure resistance between harness connector No. 1 Tan/Orange wire terminal and connector No. 2 Tan/Orange wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Tan/Orange wire circuit. 6 4) Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between harness connector No. 1 Pink/Light Blue wire terminal and connector No. 2 Pink/Light Blue wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire circuit.
  4. Disconnect PCM wiring harness connector. See Figure and Fig 1 . Measure resistance between harness connector No. 2 Tan/Orange wire terminal and PCM connector pin No. 16 (Tan/Orange wire). See Fig 3 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Tan/Orange wire circuit.
  5. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between harness connector No. 2 Pink/Light Blue wire terminal and PCM connector pin No. 15 (Pink/Light Blue wire)terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire circuit.
  6. Inspect PCM wiring harness connector for damage or corrosion. Repair if necessary. If connector is okay, replace PCM.
