Idle Speed
- Ensure ignition timing is set to specification. See IGNITION TIMING . Turn all accessories off. Set automatic transmission lever to PARK position, or manual transmission lever to Neutral position. Set parking brake.
- Warm engine to operating temperature (closed loop operation). Connect a jumper wire between ground and Self-Test Input (STI) terminal. See Figure .
- Locate Idle Air adjuster screw. See Fig 1 . Remove screw cap. Adjust idle speed to specification by rotating adjuster screw. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS table. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire.
