NOTE: The following diagnostic procedures require use of a Ford New Generation Star (NGS) Scan Tool (007-00500) or a generic scan tool and/or breakout box along with other various diagnostic equipment. For additional information on required diagnostic equipment and self-diagnostic system, see TESTS W/CODES - 2.0L or TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
NOTE: Use the following procedures to diagnose electric cooling fan systems by symptom. If an electric cooling fan related Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is present, go to TESTING  .
