Traction Control System (TCS)
TCS functions by transferring torque from the spinning wheel to wheel with most traction. This is done by applying the brake at the spinning wheel through the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) or by reducing throttle opening. Throttle function is controlled by a throttle control unit and 2 cables. One cable is attached to accelerator pedal and throttle control unit. The other cable is attached to throttle control unit and throttle body.
TCS braking and throttle control occur at vehicle speeds up to about 30 MPH. At speeds greater than 30 MPH, only throttle limiting is used. TCS warning light will turn on if TCS has been manually turned off with TCS disable switch, or if there is a TCS fault.
