Diagnostic Aids
Perform this test when instructed during QUICK TEST or if directed by other test procedures. This test is used to diagnose the following:
- Connection between scan tester and PCM.
- Connection between scan tester and battery power supply.
- Correct key sequence executed for outputs.
- 1) Check Scan Tester Installation
Turn ignition off. Check connection between scan tester and Data Link Connector (DLC) for damage or contamination. Service or adjust as necessary. If connector is okay, go to next step. - 2) Check connector and wiring harness cable between scan tester and battery power supply for correct installation, damage or poor connection. Repair as necessary. Ensure correct key sequence for outputs is executed. See scan tester manufacturer instructions.
