Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Before beginning testing, retrieve any existing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Use New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) connected to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below instrument panel, to perform data link diagnostics test. See ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. Make any repairs that may be indicated. If DTCs are retrieved, go to appropriate test. If no applicable DTCs exist, go to appropriate symptom related test.
