Single Power Window Inoperative

  1. Power Window Operation Check  - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate all windows from master switch. If all windows operate from master switch, go to next step. If all windows do not operate from master switch, go to ALL POWER WINDOWS INOPERATIVE.
  2. Check Individual Window Operation  - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure window lock-out switch on master switch is in OFF position. Operate all windows from passenger switches. If all windows operate, advise customer of lock-out feature. If single window does not operate, go to next step.
  3. Check Red/Light Blue Wire  - Ensure window lock-out switch on master switch is in OFF position. Remove and disconnect inoperative window control switch. Check for battery voltage at Red/Light Blue wire at inoperative window control switch connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair Red/Light Blue wire. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  4. Check Switch Circuits  - Remove and disconnect master switch. Disconnect single switch for inoperative window. Check UP and DOWN circuits between master switch and single switch for inoperative window for open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAM  . Repair open or shorted circuit as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  5. Check Motor Circuits  - Disconnect inoperative power window motor. Check Red/Yellow and Yellow/Red wires between single switch and window motor for open or short to ground. Repair open or shorted wires as necessary. If Red/Yellow and Yellow/Red wires are okay, replace motor.
