Abs Relay

  1. Remove relay from harness connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between terminal No. 85 and all other terminals. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace relay. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Using jumper wires, connect ABS relay terminals No. 30 and 85 to positive battery terminal. Using a DVOM, with negative DVOM lead connected to negative battery terminal, check terminal No. 87 with positive DVOM lead. See Fig 1 . If reading is less than 10 volts, replace relay. If reading is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. With terminals No. 30 and 85 still connected to positive battery terminal, use a jumper wire to connect terminal No. 86 to ground. Check voltage at terminal 87. See Fig 1 . If reading is less than 10 volts, replace relay. If reading is greater than 10 volts, relay is okay.
