Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Turn ignition Off. Connect NGS scan tool. Turn ignition On. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . Test drive vehicle. Retrieve DTCs. If DTC C1115 exists, go to next step. If DTC C1095 exists with C1115, ignore DTC C1095. If only DTC C1095 exists, go to TEST A  . If DTC C1115 does not exist, check for possible intermittent condition. If different DTCs are retrieved, see ANTI-LOCK BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (ABCM) DTC DEFINITIONS  table.
  2. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . Turn ignition Off. Disconnect ABS relay. Test drive vehicle. Check if any DTCs exist. If DTC C1115 exists, go to step 5). If a different DTC exists, ignore DTC and go to next step.
  3. Perform ABS relay component test. See ABS RELAY under COMPONENT TESTING  . If relay is okay, go to next step. If relay is not okay, replace relay and go to step 6).
  4. Install breakout box. Using DVOM, check resistance between breakout box pins No. 1 and 4. If reading is less than 150 ohms, replace ABCM. If reading is greater than 150 ohms, repair Red/Yellow wire between ABCM and HCU hydraulic pump motor.
  5. Check voltage between breakout box pin No. 25 and ground. If reading is greater than 10 volts, locate and repair short to battery voltage in Yellow wire between ABCM and HCU hydraulic pump motor. If reading is less than 10 volts, replace ABCM and go to step 6).
  6. Restore ABS system and connect all components. Clear DTCs. Test drive vehicle. Check for any DTCs. If DTCs exist, see ANTI-LOCK BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (ABCM) DTC DEFINITIONS  table. If DTCs do not exist, system repair is complete.
