Defogger Switch

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug switch connector. Connect battery voltage to Black/Yellow wire terminal of switch. See Fig 1. Connect switch Black wire terminal to ground.
  2. Check for continuity between switch connector ground terminals and chassis ground. See DEFOGGER SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION TABLE. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair circuit as necessary.
  3. Press and release switch. Indicator light should come on and remain on. Indicator should go off only if rocker switch is pressed again, battery voltage is removed from Black/Yellow wire terminal, or approximately 15-20 minutes have elapsed. Replace control unit if test results are not as specified.
