Test G: Warning Indicator Light

  1. Check ABS Warning Light Operation

Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module. ABS control module is located behind left cowl side trim panel. On all models, turn ignition on. If ABS warning light is on, go to next step. If ABS warning light is off, replace 15-amp METER fuse and/or warning light bulb. If fuse and bulb are okay, check for open in Pink wire between instrument cluster and ABS relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Check For Short To Ground

Ensure ABS control module is disconnected. Turn ignition on. Disconnect ABS relay. If ABS warning light turns off, go to next step. If warning light remains on, check for short to ground in Pink wire between instrument cluster and ABS relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Check ABS Warning Light Signal

Ensure ABS control module and ABS relay are disconnected. Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between ground and Pink wire at ABS control module connector. Connect another jumper wire between ground and Pink wire at ABS relay connector. If ABS warning light is on with both wires grounded, go to next step. If ABS warning light does not turn on at all, replace 15-amp METER fuse and/or warning light bulb. If fuse and bulb are okay, check for open in Pink wire between instrument cluster and ABS relay and/or ABS control module unit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If light is on only when ABS control module is grounded, repair Pink wire to ABS relay. If light is on only when ABS relay is grounded, repair Pink wire to ABS control module.
  4. Check ABS Control Module Ground

Turn ignition off. Ensure ABS control module is disconnected. Measure resistance between ground and both Black wires at ABS control module 12-pin connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ABS control module. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate Black wire.
