Section 39 (AUTOLAMP System): Description: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lincoln Continental. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The autolamp system is a light-sensitive, on-off control. It will automatically turn the headlights on and off. The system can be set to automatically turn off interior and exterior lights after the ignition has been turned off. This feature is adjustable and has a maximum time delay setting of up to 3 minutes.

Autolamp system consists of the light sensor amplifier, located in the defroster grille on top left dash, Lighting Control Module (LCM), located underneath dash on right side of steering column and time delay switch which is integral with headlight switch.

Autolamp system LCM communicates with other control modules via module communications network.
