Parameter Identification (PID)

- Manufacturer uses a PID to identify data requested by scan tool. The scan tool will display applicable PID for module being tested. When a PID is selected, scan tool will display the status or data for selected PID.
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) scan tool to 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located in center dash area. Turn ignition on. Rotate dial on scan tool to DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK menu, and press trigger to select and advance to next screen. Highlight and select module you wish to receive information from.
- Highlight and select menu item PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD. Highlight and select the PID acronyms you wish to view. When all PID acronyms have been selected, press 7 button, to view all selected PIDs.
