DTC B1549

- Ensure Switch Is Not Active - Ensure power window switches are not pressed. Clear DTCs. Perform ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. See ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If DTC B1549 is not indicated, go to next step. If DTC B1549 is indicated, go to step 3).
- Ensure Switch Is Not Sticking
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Access the following window regulator control switch PIDs:
- RRPW_SW_ - Right Rear Power Window Switch
- LRPW_SW_ - Left Right Rear Power Window Switch
- P_PW_SW_ - Passenger Power Window Switch
- D_PW_SW_ - Driver Power Window Switch
Press and release each power window switch several times. If PID indicates button does not release within one second of when each switch is released, go to next step. If PID indicates button releases within one second of when each switch is released, system is operating normally. Continuous DTC would be set if any power window master switch was pressed for longer than 2 minutes.
- Switch Test
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) test to Data Link Connector (DLC). Access the following window regulator control switch PIDs:
- RRPW_SW_ - Right Rear Power Window Switch
- LRPW_SW_ - Left Right Rear Power Window Switch
- P_PW_SW_ - Passenger Power Window Switch
- D_PW_SW_ - Driver Power Window Switch
Remove Driver's Door Module (DDM), but DO NOT disconnect. Remove bezel from DDM. If PID still indicates a sticking switch, replace DDM. Retest system. If PID does not indicate a sticking switch, replace bezel. Retest system.
