Window Stuck Or Binding

  1. Function Test  - Remove trim panel at suspect window. Actuate power window switch for down operation. Observe glass in guides. If there are no obstructions in glass guides, go to next step. If obstructions are observed, clear obstructions and lubricate glass guides. Retest system.
  2. Window Regulator Operation Check  - Actuate power window switch for up operation. Observe window motion. If regulator does not skip or bind, go to next step. If regulator skips or binds, loosen glass guide retaining screws and adjust glass guides as necessary. Retest system.
  3. Regulator & Power Window Motor Check  - Inspect regulator and drive motor gears for excessive wear or damage. If excessive wear or damage is found, repair or replace regulator and/or motor. If excessive wear or damage are not found, lubricate regulator and retest system.
