Test A - Power Seat Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Check POWER SEAT (30-amp) fuse located in underhood fuse panel. If fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is blown, go to next step.
  2. Replace POWER SEAT (30-amp) fuse. If fuse blows again, go to next step. If fuse does not blow, go to step 4).
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect both power seat switch connectors. Remove 30-amp POWER SEAT fuse. Measure resistance of White/Black wire between fuse panel and seat back control switch connector. Measure resistance of White/Black wire between seat back control switch connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between fuse box and switch, and more than 10 k/ohms between switch and ground, replace POWER SEAT fuse and go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms between fuse panel and switch, and less than 10 k/ohms between switch and ground, repair White/Black wire for open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  4. Test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch tests okay, go to next step. If switch faulty, replace seat control switch and housing.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect power seat back control switch connector. Measure voltage between ground and power seat back control switch connector White/Black wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair Black wire between connector and ground. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in White/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAM  .
