Both Power Windows Inoperative

  1. Check POWER WINDOW (30-amp) fuse. Replace fuse if blown. If fuse blows after replacing, go to next step. If fuse does not blow, go to step 4).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Orange 16-pin interior fuse panel connector. Disconnect master switch connector and right switch (passenger side) connector. Measure resistance between Black/Red wire terminal of 16-pin interior fuse panel connector and ground. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Red wire between power window switches and interior fuse panel. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step.
  3. With ignition off, disconnect master switch connector. Measure resistance between ground and following connector terminals: Green/Blue wire, Red/Blue wire, Green/White wire and Red/White wire. If any resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair circuit in question for a short to ground. If all resistance measurements are greater than 10 k/ohms, reconnect interior fuse panel and go to next step.
  4. With ignition off, disconnect master switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Black/Red wire terminal of master switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire between switch and interior fuse panel.
  5. Turn ignition off, disconnect master switch connector. Measure resistance of Black wire between master switch connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace master switch.
