Test C: Solenoid Valve
- Check System Integrity
Visually inspect all wiring, harness connectors, brakelines and components for wear, damage or overheating. If faults are found, repair as necessary. If no faults are found, go to next step. - Solenoid Valve (SV) Signal Check
Ensure ABS control module is connected. Turn ignition on. Set DVOM on 20-volt scale. Measure voltage between ground and ABS control module connector Yellow/White wire. If voltage is momentarily more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair Yellow/White wire between ABS relay and ABS control module. - Solenoid Valve (SV) Check At ABS Control Module
Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Set DVOM on 200-ohm scale. Measure and record resistance between each of following ABS module connector wire terminals. See CHECKING SOLENOID CIRCUIT RESISTANCE table. If resistances are about 3 ohms, go to TEST H . If any resistance is not about 3 ohms, go to next step.CHECKING SOLENOID CIRCUIT RESISTANCESolenoid Wire Color Left Front Yellow/White & Yellow/Green Left Rear Yellow/White & Brown Right Front Yellow/White & Blue/Orange Right Rear Yellow/White & Black/Yellow - Solenoid Valve (SV) Check At Hydraulic Actuator Assembly -Turn ignition off. Disconnect hydraulic actuator assembly connector. See Fig 1 . Set DVOM on 200-ohm scale. Measure and record resistance between each terminal of hydraulic actuator assembly connector. See ACTUATOR RESISTANCE TEST table. If all resistance values are greater than 5 ohms, repair wires between ABS control module and hydraulic actuator assembly connector. If resistance values are less than 5 ohms, replace hydraulic actuator assembly.
