Test J: Wipers Inoperative In Mist Setting

  1. Turn ignition on. Set wiper switch for low speed operation. If wipers operate, go to next step. If wipers do not operate, go to TEST D  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Interval Wiper/Washer Module (IWWM) connector. Hold wiper switch in MIST position. Measure resistance between IWWM connector terminal No. 1 (Orange wire) and terminal No. 7 (Brown/White wire). If resistance is not 3.5-4.5 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3.5-4.5 k/ohms, replace IWWM and retest system.
  3. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. Measure resistance of Orange wire between IWWM connector and multifunction switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace multifunction switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange wire. After repair, retest system.
