Locks Do Not Operate From Remote Transmitter

  1. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module SELF-TEST. If driver's door module responds, go to next step. If driver's door module does not respond, go to NO COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER DOOR MODULE test.
  2. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA function test. Check for 2 stored transmitter identification code numbers stored as TIC1 and TIC2. If transmitter identification codes are stored at TIC1 and TIC2 positions, go to next step. If transmitter identification codes are not stored at TIC1 and TIC2 positions, reprogram remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTER  . Retest system.
  3. Press remote transmitter UNLOCK button. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module LAST TIC RECEIVED/LAST DATA RECEIVED function test. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to next step. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code does not appear under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK does not appear under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to step 6).
  4. Compare LAST TIC RECEIVED code to code stored as TIC1 and TIC2. If TIC received is one of TICs stored, go to next step. If TIC received is not one of TICs stored, reprogram remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTER  . Retest system.
  5. Remove and reinstall transmitter batteries. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. If driver's door unlocks, advise customer of proper operation. Excessive transmitter operation when out of range may cause message errors and inoperative condition. If driver's door does not unlock, replace driver's door module, then retest system.
  6. Install NEW transmitter batteries. Press remote transmitter UNLOCK button. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module LAST TIC RECEIVED/LAST DATA RECEIVED function test. If an eight digit alpha numeric code does not appear under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK does not appear under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to next step. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, go to step 4).
  7. Using second transmitter, press remote transmitter UNLOCK button. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module LAST TIC RECEIVED/LAST DATA RECEIVED function test. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code does not appear under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK does not appear under LAST DATA RECEIVED, replace driver's door module, then retest system. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and UNLOCK appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, replace and reprogram damaged remote transmitter. See PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTER  . Retest system.
