WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Press LOCK button on remote transmitter. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, go to DOORS DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK USING KEYPAD test.
  2. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA function test. Press remote transmitter PANIC button. Read LAST TIC RECEIVED and LAST DATA RECEIVED on tester. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and PANIC appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, replace driver's door module, then retest system. If an 8-digit alpha numeric code does not appear under LAST TIC RECEIVED, and PANIC does not appear under LAST DATA RECEIVED, replace and reprogram damaged remote transmitter. See PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTER  . Retest system.
