The remote keyless entry system has 3 major components: a Remote Keyless Entry Module (RKEM) located behind the glove box, an antenna (coaxial cable) located under quarter trim panel, and a remote transmitter carried by the driver.
When the operator presses the appropriate transmitter button, the system locks and unlocks doors, activates or deactivates the security system, and turns on convenience lights.
