No Start/Normal Crank
CAUTION:
Extended cranking can cause damage to catalytic converter. After repairing NO START condition, disconnect fuel injector connectors and crank engine until excessive fuel is purged from exhaust system, as evidenced by absence of fuel odor in exhaust system.
- Perform QUICK TEST and service as necessary. See TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article.
- Check no start concerns. See CIRCUIT TEST A in TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article.
- Check engine compression and overall mechanical condition. Check condition of timing belt, camshaft and valves.
- Check by-pass air control and idle air control systems. See CIRCUIT TEST HU in TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article.
- Check fuel delivery system. See CIRCUIT TEST HC in TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article.
- Check EGR system. See CIRCUIT TEST HE in TESTS W/CODES - 2.5L article.
