Pinpoint Test H - Liftgate Does Not Unlock
NOTE:
Normally, liftgate will unlock, but will not open. Hand latch release must be used to open liftgate.
- Press remote keyless entry transmitter TRUNK button. If liftgate lock releases, ensure hand latch operates properly. Lubricate latch as necessary and retest. If liftgate lock does not release, go to next step.
- Connect New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) to Data Link Connector (DLC). Access RAP FUNCTION TESTS, TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. Press remote keyless entry transmitter TRUNK button. If LAST DATA RECEIVED displays TRUNK, go to next step. If LAST DATA RECEIVED does not display TRUNK, go to PINPOINT TEST C .
- Disconnect Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module connector C254. Measure voltage at RAP module connector C254, terminal No. 7. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 5).
- Install jumper wire between RAP module connector C254, terminal No. 7 and ground. Measure voltage of Pink/Orange wire at liftgate lock actuator. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, replace RAP module and retest system.
- Disconnect liftgate lock relay connector. Measure voltage between ground and liftgate lock relay connector terminals No. 86 and 87 (Black/White wire at both terminals). See Figure . If battery voltage exists at both terminals, replace liftgate lock relay and retest system. If battery voltage does not exist at both connectors, repair open in Black/White wire and retest system.
