Pinpoint Test E - Keypad Does Not Illuminate

  1. Press keypad buttons 7/8 and 9/0. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, perform self-test as described in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
  2. Disconnect Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module connector C254. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and RAP connector terminal No. 15 (Light Blue wire). See Figure . If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, go to step 4). If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect keypad connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and Light Blue wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace RAP module. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair Light Blue wire short to ground and retest system.
  4. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Light Blue wire between RAP module and keypad connectors. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue wire and retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step.
  5. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black wire between ground and keypad connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire and retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace keypad.
