One-Touch Relay Circuit Open

  1. Check Left Front Window PID

Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, access LFPWRLY PID from GEM. If PID reads SHORTVBAT, go to next step. If PID does not read SHORTVBAT, inspect relay terminals for corrosion or damage and repair as necessary. If terminals are okay, repeat self-test.
  2. Check For Shorted Relay

With LFPWRLY PID still accessed, remove one-touch relay. If PID still reads SHORTVBAT, go to next step. If PID no longer reads SHORTVBAT, replace relay.
  3. Check Fuse Junction Panel

Disconnect GEM from fuse junction panel. Remove one-touch relay from fuse junction panel. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between one-touch relay socket terminal No. 86 and ground. See Figure. If battery voltage exists, replace fuse junction panel and retest system. If battery voltage does not exist, replace GEM and retest system.
