Test A: Pcm Not Responding To Scan Tool

  1. Check For Open In Circuit No. 914

Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector C101. See Figure and Fig 1. Inspect connector for damage or corrosion and repair if necessary. Measure resistance of circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange wire) between harness connector C101 and DLC pin No. 2. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Tan/Orange wire.
  2. Check For Open In Circuit No. 915

Leave ignition off. Measure resistance of circuit No. 915 (Pink/Light Blue wire) between DLC pin No. 10 and harness connector C101. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire.
  3. Check For Open In Circuit No. 914 Between C101 & C100

Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector C100 (42-pin connector located in left rear engine compartment). Inspect connector for damage or corrosion and repair if necessary. Measure resistance of circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange wire) between harness connector C101 and C100. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Tan/Orange wire.
  4. Check For Open In Circuit No. 915 Between C101 & C100

Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of circuit No. 915 (Pink/Light Blue wire) between harness connector C101 and C100. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire.
  5. Check For Open In Circuit No. 914 Between C100 & PCM

Disconnect PCM. Measure resistance of circuit No. 914 (Tan/Orange Wire) between harness connector C100 and PCM connector pin No. 16. See Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Tan/Orange wire.
  6. Check For Open In Circuit No. 915 Between C100 & PCM

Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of circuit No. 915 (Pink/Light Blue wire) between harness connector C100 and PCM connector pin No. 15. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Pink/Light Blue wire.
  7. Check PCM Connector

Inspect PCM harness connector for damage or corrosion. Repair if necessary. If connector is okay, replace PCM. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.
